Why Web-Form Brokers Are Harder Than Email Brokers
Some brokers refuse email and force you through a form. Here's what they're optimizing for, and how pre-filled links and copy chips cut the friction.
Roughly one broker in six will not accept a written deletion request by email. They publish a form instead, and the form is almost never designed to be pleasant.
Friction is the point
- Multi-step wizards that lose your input on validation errors.
- Search-then-select flows that make you find your own listing first.
- Email confirmation loops, sometimes twice.
- ID upload requests that are frequently more data than the law permits them to demand.
What helps
Where a broker's form accepts query parameters, DataFreeMe pre-populates them so the page opens partly filled. Where it doesn't, every field you need is a copy-to-clipboard chip beside the link, so the loop is paste-paste-submit instead of hunting through profiles.
And if a form demands a government ID to process a deletion, you can push back in writing. Under both CCPA and GDPR, verification must be proportionate to the request.
